According to recent court filings obtained by Bloomberg, Microsoft and Datel have settled their lawsuits against each other. Both suits stemmed from practices relating to the Microsoft’s Xbox 360.
Datel originally sued Microsoft in 2009, claiming that a 360 upgrade locked out Datel accessories. Microsoft sued Datel back the next year, claiming that the vendor has infringed on Microsoft-owned patent 7,787,411. The patent covers a protocol for using peripherals with a wireless console.
Datel later redesigned its controllers, leading to Microsoft dropping its infringement case, but still seeking damages for past infringement. This continued until the December 30 court filing by both parties.
Microsoft spokesperson Kevin Kutz said that the terms were “to the satisfaction of both parties.”
