Metal Gear Solid Creator Laments A 'Meaningless Year'

Posted May 24, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Hideo Kojima, head of Kojima Production and the father of the Metal Gear series, is having a tough time.  In a few tweets, Kojima referenced the cancellation of a mystery project as the reason for his malaise.

“I can’t take it anymore; this is unbearable, I can’t stay positive,” Kojima said in VG247’s translation. “The thing that I spent one year delicately preparing became meaningless.”

It’s unlikely that any of the numerous Metal Gear projects Kojima has lined up have gone by the wayside, so what got cut?  Could it be the mysterious “devil” project he hinted at in February?  Either way, someone needs to buy the man a beer and cheer him up.
