Mass Effect 2 won numerous awards and expectations are quite high for the third installment in BioWare's blockbuster franchise. While BioWare is busy creating its first MMO in Star Wars: The Old Republic, Mass Effect 3 is potentially even more promising, according to the folks at EEDAR who analyzed the commercial potential of all the top titles at E3.

The most promising games list (see full chart below) was created by EEDAR in partnership with IGN Entertainment and GameTrailers, and showed BioWare's Mass Effect 3 ahead of Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Modern Warfare 3 and Assassin's Creed Revelations (in that order).

"Data indicates that Mass Effect 3 could produce strong series growth in excess of 20% over previous versions," noted EEDAR's report.

"We are excited to see that there was such a high level of interest in Mass Effect 3 during E3, especially when you consider how many amazing games were on display at this year's show," said Patrick Buechner, Vice President of Marketing for EA's BioWare studios. "The team is making an incredible game that will attract both our loyal fans and players who are new to the franchise, making for a huge event launch at retail in March."
