Sony Online Entertainment announced today that Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will be leading an all-star cast of voice actors in DC Universe Online. Conroy and Hamill will be once again voicing their classic roles of Batman and the Joker. The pair has voiced both characters in television, movies, and games, with their most recent performances in those roles being in Rocksteady’s smash hit Batman: Arkham Asylum.
"We're excited that not only will Mark and Kevin bring their talent back to the DC Universe as part of DC Universe Online, but we've hit the jackpot with a full cast that are veterans of movies, TV shows and games that our fans are crazy about," said SOE VP of Development, John Blakely. "Several of these actors are recognized as the definitive voices for these characters, and will help us in creating an authentic and exciting experience for fans when they get in the game."
This comes as a surprise, as Hamill had previously stated that he was retiring from voicing the Joker with the upcoming Arkham Asylum sequel. Other science-fiction fan favorites will round out the rest of the cast, with Adam Baldwin as Superman, Gina Torres as Wonder Woman, James Marsters as Lex Luthor, and Michelle Forbes as Circe.
The closed beta for DC Universe Online recently began and the game is scheduled to ship on November 2 for PC and PlayStation 3.
