Speaking to Joystiq, LucasArts president Darrell Rodriguez strongly hinted at the idea of bringing his company's back catalog portfolio to the ubiquitous iPhone.
LucasArts today unveiled a new partnership with Valve to bring its classic games to the Steam digital delivery platform, and when Rodriguez was asked if these same titles could be brought to other platforms in digital format, he answered not so subtly, "On iPhone, you know Apple's policy that we can't talk about a release until it's ready to release. But it would make sense that we would do something like that if we were to go in that direction ... wink wink, nod nod."
We think it would make perfect sense for LucasArts to leverage its IP on iPhone and other portable platforms like the PSP and DS. If the games are reasonably priced, older fans can relive the classic on the go, while younger audiences can experience them for the first time.
