At today’s Casual Connect Seattle event, LiveGamer announced that it will be providing virtual economy infrastructure for GameHouse’s new Fusion social gaming platform. GameHouse, a division of RealNetworks, will use the virtual economy to unify all of its games across multiple social networks and mobile devices.
GameHouse Fusion launched in May as a rebranding of RealNetwork’s RealGames division. Gamehouse on Facebook is the first application built on the Fusion platform. LiveGamer’s virtual economy platform will keep gamers connected through virtual goods sales across Facebook, iOS, and other platforms.
"The free-to-play, virtual goods-based business model has proven to significantly increase revenue in social games, but due to GameHouse Fusion’s scope and complexity, it was critical that we integrate a trusted platform that could scale and meet all of our needs," said Matt Hulett, chief revenue officer of GameHouse. "We chose the Live Gamer platform because of its advanced toolset and track record in the industry."
“GameHouse has raised the bar for social gaming online and on mobile,” said Andrew Schneider, president of Live Gamer. “We look forward to helping optimize GameHouse’s revenue, increase ARPU, and offer its users the best possible microtransaction experience.”
This follows Monday’s announcement that THQ would also be turning to LiveGamer for micro-transactions and virtual goods sales.
