LittleBigPlanet 2, successor to one of the most successful PS3 exclusives out there, has been dated for release on November 16. The promotional content surrounding the release is also offering gamers dozens of new costumes, but at a catch.
Several retailers will be offering different pre-order bonuses. Ordering from Amazon will net gamers two character skins that will not be offered anywhere else. The promotion is available at three retailers; Amazon (Ratchet and Clank), Best Buy (Toy Story Alien) and GameStop (Tron). Regardless of where the game is pre-ordered, all of them offer four animal skinned sack-boys. A Gonzo character, of Muppets fame, has also been showcased, with no announcement of where to get it.
Gamers may also opt for a Collector’s Edition, which will retail for $80. The benefits of ordering one seem reasonable. Included are all mentioned character-skins, a 7-inch Sack-boy plushie, (rather stylish) bookends, and exclusive sack-boy Jak and Daxter skins. The Collector’s Edition is actually a limited run, “so you better pre-order soon to ensure you get one,” says Sony.
