Left 4 Dead 2 Pre-Orders 'Between 3.5 to 4 Times the Size of L4D1'

Valve made it apparent before the release of Left 4 Dead 2 that they expected the game to be the fastest selling in Valve history.  When asked if the baseball bat pre-order bonus helped fuel sales, Valve VP of Marketing Doug Lombardi revealed to IndustryGamers that the game has done very well indeed, even before its debut.

Left 4 Dead 1 was just about tied with Half-Life 2 as the most pre-ordered game in Valve history,” said Lombardi. “We don't have the final Left 4 Dead 2 pre-orders totaled yet, but they look to be between 3.5 to 4 times the size of L4D1's pre-orders. So, I guess ‘yes’ would be the simple answer.”

The full interview with Lombardi about the huge marketing of Left 4 Dead 2 can be read here.
