With the recent announcement stating that Black Ops has surpassed $1 billion in sales worldwide, the discussion on Treyarch vs. Infinity Ward still remains. While many still believe Treyarch has a lot to prove when it comes to developing titles, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick argues that Treyarch has more than shown they can stand on their own.
"Multiplayer has been largely developed by Treyarch," Kotick told CNN. The executive noted that this also applies to Infinity Ward's games. "I don't think Treyarch got their due for how much they contributed in the production and polish to the multiplayer."
While Kotick plays up Treyarch, it has become more than evident that the legal battle surrounding former Infinity Ward heads Vince Zampella and Jason West is starting to turn more dramatic as Activision has now included EA in the lawsuit.
The lawsuit alleges former Infinity Ward executive Jason West formed “an intentional strategy to ‘crush and destroy’ his fellow developers at Treyarch.” Activision claims that this information came from comments made by West in text messages.
As the lawsuit expands and the transformation of the Call of Duty franchise continues, Kotick took the time to remind CNN that over 5,000 resumes were received after West and Zampella were removed from the Infinity Ward offices.

So Treyarch is responsible for the Multiplayer polish on the COD series? Did Kotick say that with a straight face?
I am at odds with his definition of polish!

Let's put it this way, I will give the next COD game a try but Black Ops is the last Treyarch game I will buy. WAW was crap, and I didn't buy it, I don't know what made me think that would change for Black Ops.
