Kongregate Arcade Back On Android Market After Changes

Posted January 26, 2011 by M.H. Williams

One week after its Kongregate Arcade app was taken down for violating an Android Market agreement, Kongregate has announced that the app has been restored to the marketplace. The app has been modified with a few changes, the foremost being it now loads a browser window and caches the title before switching to full screen mode. No game is physically downloaded to your phone or internal SD card.

Kongregate CEO Jim Greer explained that the changes “make it very clear that [the app] is for playing browser-based games and it's not going to install anything on the phone."

"We hope that this will meet Google's requirements that we're not creating a competing app store while still being a great gaming experience," Greer continued.

Here’s hoping it survives for longer than a day this time.
