It seems Hideo Kojima is forever saying that a certain title will be his last Metal Gear Solid game. Sadly for him, Kojima never seems to be able to leave the series he made his name on. Metal Gear Solid: Rising producer Shigenobu Matsuyama opened a can of worms when he participated in an E3 2010 Roundtable Discussion.
"I've been asked a lot, 'Is this going to be a side-story or spin-off to the MGS series?'" Matsyama said in response to a question of Rising’s position in the MGS series, "but what I'm positioning is that there will be a Hideo Kojima game that is MGS, but what we are planning as Kojima Productions is have this Raiden Rising as almost as a standard so that there's an MGS and the Rising going back-and-forth in the future."
Shacknews then contacted Konami for clarification and received a simple reply in return: “Hideo Kojima will continue working on Metal Gear Solid games.” No announcements were made at E3 about Kojima’s next project, but he is expected to reveal a PlayStation 3 exclusive at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. It looks like fans will never get that Zone of Enders sequel.
