Ken Levine Working on a Project 'Substantially More Ambitious than BioShock'

Posted July 17, 2009 by David Radd

Having worked on projects like Thief: The Dark Project, System Shock 2, Freedom Force and BioShock, Ken Levine is no stranger to taking risks with the games he designs. As impressive as the titles he's done in the past are, the leader of 2K Boston believes that his latest project is his most ambitious yet.

"When we thought about this project, we accounted for the fact that hiring the staff that we needed to hire would take some time," said Levine to Gamasutra. "And when we thought about the shipping date of the project... We needed a certain kind of length for the title, because we had a scope and ambition in mind which is more ambitious than anything we've ever done. Even more, substantially more ambitious than BioShock. And we knew that was not going to happen overnight."

BioShock is easily one of the most acclaimed titles of this hardware generation, and while we don't know what Levine and company are working on now, we can't wait to play it.
