Jerry Bruckheimer's Game Studio Is Looking For A New Publisher

Posted November 12, 2010 by M.H. Williams

With music games in a slow decline, Viacom announced earlier this week that it's looking to sell Harmonix, stating that, “the console games business requires an expertise and scale that we don't have.” Though Rock Band was a hot property when Viacom bought the developer four years ago, times have changed.

Unfortunately, Viacom’s exit from the gaming industry also means that its other studios also need to find a new home. Bruckheimer Games, a studio co-owned by MTV and CSI producer Jerry Bruckheimer, may also have to find a new publisher to call home.

The LA Times is reporting that the studio is already looking for a new publisher moving forward. It has several games in production for current generation consoles like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but nothing yet released. Neither MTV nor Bruckheimer could be reached for comment.
