While the hype machine is just getting warmed up for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, the movie version of the shooter series is moving along as well. Variety is reporting that James Lynch, a psychopathic rageaholic, will be played by none other than Jamie Foxx (Dreamgirls, Ray, Colateral).
Bruce Willis has been signed up to play the other main character, calculating mercenary Adam "Kane" Marcus, since 2008. The script is being done by Kyle Ward, who also worked on a movie script for Uncharted. Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter (Hitman, Jonny Quest) will produce with David Willis, Stephen Eads and Millennium Pictures. Simon Crane, an experienced second-unit director and stunt coordinator, is set to make his feature directing debut with Kane & Lynch when filming begins in August.
While signing on Jamie Foxx to the Kane & Lynch movie might be a sign that the producers are taking the adaptation seriously, we hope that it doesn't mean that the gritty crime drama is reduced to a black-meets-white buddy comedy film.
