iPhone, iPad Drive 15% Sales Surge at Gameloft

Posted July 29, 2010 by Ben Strauss

Gameloft is reporting sales at 33.6 million EUR (43.99 million USD) during the second quarter of 2010. Sales have increased 15% from the previous year, with revenues primarily stemming from the U.S. and Europe.

Growth accelerated due to Gameloft’s increased market share in traditional Java and Brew phones as well as the massive success enjoyed by smartphones around the world. The company positioned itself as a leading game publisher for the AppStore, seeing sales increase by 113% during the second quarter. Seeing over 10 million paid downloads and increased sales figures month over month, Gameloft has had tremendous success on the Apple iPhone and iPad.

Gameloft is expecting continued growth throughout 2010 in terms of revenue and profitability. With the emergence of digital distribution of video games on mobile phones and other portable devices, Gameloft is looking to take a leading edge in technological innovations as well as diversification in other platforms.
