Already numerous developers have chimed in with their instant analysis of Apple's new iPad, and it turns out that more than traditional mobile companies are interested in its gaming applications. Vice president at Epic Games Mark Rein, who was at the iPad unveiling, was impressed with the device.
“I think games look fantastic on it already,” said Rein to VentureBeat. “I think when people get their hands on the device and the SDK, they're going to make some great looking games for it, which is pretty exciting for us, because down the road, I think we're going to provide some good technology for these devices.”
“It looks like it has a lot of power,” he continued. “To be able to take an iPhone game and then run it full screen is pretty impressive. Our engine, which already works on iPhone, would work on this already. The point is if now you want to take advantage of the extra resolution and features and do cool things you can, and that's pretty exciting. I think people will do that; I don't see any reason why you wouldn't. In the same way on a PC we've been doing that for years, we run on PCs with medium level of graphics and then we do even better on higher resolutions with better PCs. So I think people will make horses for courses."
Rein also thought that it could look better than games on a laptop and when asked about comparisons to netbooks, he laughed and said, “I think netbooks are in trouble.”

If netbooks cost even half as much as an Ipad I would agree they are in trouble.
