According to All Things D, Apple will be holding an event in early March - possibly concurrent with the upcoming GDC - to show off the iPad 3. It is believed that they will demonstrate the device for the first time at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and probably release it the following week.
It is believed that the iPad 3 will be similar in form to the iPad 2 but with significantly improved capabilities. It is said that the iPad 3 will have a much faster chip, an improved graphics processing unit, and feature a 2048×1536 Retina Display.
