International Game Developers Association Elects New Chair

Representatives for the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) sent word today that during the board of director’s annual meeting to appoint new officers, Gordon Bellamy, Sr. Producer at Emerging Media yU+co, was elected new chair. Additionally, Tobi Saulnier, CEO of 1st Playable Productions, is Chair Emeritus and will serve as Treasurer, while Brian Robbins, Founder of Riptide Games, is the new Secretary taking over for Coray Seifert.

“The new board members are an incredible group of leaders ready to tackle the challenges facing our industry and they join a great board. Personally, I hope to expand support to our local chapters and special interest groups and try some new things with conferences on the east coast so we can reach more members and grow problem-solving from the grassroots level,“ said Bellamy.

IGDA's Board of Directors also recently welcomed Wendy Despain, David Edery, Darius Kazemi and Jane Pinckard as first-term members, while Coray Seifert was appointed to a second consecutive term. With that in mind, the complete list of 2010-2011 directors looks like this:

  • Rodney Gibbs – President, Ricochet Labs
  • Erin Hoffman – Lead Designer, HumaNature
  • Darius Kazemi – President, Orbus Games
  • Jane Pinckard – Business Development, Foundation 9 Entertainment
  • Jamil Moledina – Outreach Director, EA Partners, Electronic Arts
  • Coray Seifert – Game Designer, Kaos Studios|THQ
  • Tim Train - Studio General Manager, Big Huge Games|38 Studios
