Insomniac Confirms End of Resistance Work for Studio

Posted January 26, 2012 by Ben Strauss

Chugging along at three very solid titles in the Resistance franchise, the folks at Insomniac have confirmed that their work for the PS3 exclusive series has now come to an end.  Insomniac boss Ted Price confirmed the news at the Game::Business::Law Summit today at Southern Methodist University.

Speaking to VG247, Price simply stated that “We won’t be making any more Resistances,” deciding instead to discuss the future of the firm.

“Certainly over the next couple years, we’re going to see a huge evolution in visuals in social games,” Price said. “It’s thanks to improving technologies. It’s thanks to browsers that are getting better and more powerful. It’s thanks to development teams – core traditional game teams who are moving into the space.”

Insomniac is hard at work on several titles through its three studios.  The main studio has been working on the new IP, OverStrike.  The North Carolina branch has yet to disclose their current project, while the social Insomniac Click group is also working on an undisclosed project as well.
