The former employees of Infinity Ward have updated their lawsuit filed against Activision in April, claiming that the publishing giant created a virtual “police state” at the developer. The suit also alleges that Activision did so in order to force the creation of another Modern Warfare title. Kotaku reports that the amendment was filed on July 9th.
The update to the lawsuit also cuts the damages against Activision from half a billion down to $216 million, citing the adverse working conditions and the withheld bonuses.
This lawsuit stands separately from the suit filed by former Infinity Ward studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella, who are also seeking damages of $36 million. There is a hearing scheduled for August 5th to determine if both cases can be consolidated. The tentative trial date is set for May 23, 2011.
