The International Game Developers Association announced today that it has chosen to add five new members to its board. The additions came after a member vote was declared void due to falling below the minimum number of necessary votes. This marks the second time this has happened within the organization, with only 11 percent of members voting in 2010. This year 1418 votes were cast, just 154 votes below the minimum requirement with 18 percent of membership participating.
The current board chose the new members based on the votes received. Four of the new board members will occupy three-year seats. Those members are:
-
Brian Robbins, Founder, Riptide Games (total votes: 549)
-
Feargus Urquhart, CEO, Obsidian Entertainment (total votes: 532)
-
Dustin Clingman, CEO, ZeeGee Games (total votes: 517)
-
Cordy Rierson, Director, University Talent Development, Microsoft Game Studios (total votes: 480)
The last board member will hold a one-year seat. That member is:
-
Scott Berfield, Executive Producer, Center for Serious Play, University of Washington, Bothell (total votes: 476)
The full list of contenders is currently available on the IGDA Board blog.
