Halo: Reach Leaked From Microsoft Servers

Posted August 20, 2010 by Ben Strauss

Modders from Game-tut.com have apparently tricked Microsoft servers and have gained access to the game. Offering the game’s files for a whopping $1250, the game was intended for reviewers and only meant to be downloaded by code.

The game has apparently been leaked to other places as well. Spoilers for the game have been found at Bungie’s official forums and NeoGAF.

The game was posted to Xbox Live marketplace, as Bungie was holding the usual review events for the game, as it had done with previous Halo entries. The public reveal seems to have facilitated an exceptionally early leak for a game that is incredibly sought after by fans.

Halo 3 got leaked(via a french version) before that game officially came out as well. You'd think that developers would come up with tougher ways to protect their games from having this happen. But I suppose the hacking/modding community will always find ways to eventually get around any security measures they want to bypass.

Leaks will always happen. All they do is build hype even further. There is no reason to freak out about it. Some will always mod and pirate. Freaking out about it will not help. Fans will always find a way, and anyone who pays $1250 for a game that will be out in 22 days is an idiot anyway.

Yea I've seen it available to download on a few sites. Most 360 games are available to download anywhere between 1-4 weeks before release date. People say piracy has killed PC gaming but its just as easy to pirate 360 and they are uploaded a hell of a lot earlier. Full PS3 (not the dl arcade games) games are different since its on BluRay.
