Guillemot: '2010 is Looking Pretty Crazy, Some Games Will be Delayed Again'

This holiday period is going to be chock full of guaranteed hits, like Halo 3: ODST, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Assassin's Creed II, so it's no surprise that some games have been purposefully delayed until after the busy holiday period. However, this mass exodus from late 2009 to early 2010 has resulted in a crowded release schedule for early next year, something that Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot thinks could result in more delays.

"We now have a situation where there are a lot of good games due for release in the first half of next year, but I think some publishers will move again,” said Guillemot to MCV. “The first quarter of 2010 is looking pretty crazy. So I expect some movement from the other players – some of those delayed games will be moved again.”

For reference, Singularity, Bayonetta, BioShock 2, and Dark Void have all been pushed back into the first half of 2010 which will also see the release of Heavy Rain, Red Dead Redemption and God of War III. Ubisoft's oft delayed Splinter Cell: Conviction and Wii actioner Red Steel 2 are also set for a Q1 2010 release.
