GTA Episodes from Liberty City Headed to Japan as Take-Two Opens Tokyo Office

Posted February 24, 2010 by James Brightman

According to a Famitsu report translated by Siliconera, Take-Two Interactive is establishing its own Japanese subsidiary to localize and publish content in the land of the rising sun. In the past, Take-Two had partnered with other publishers like Capcom or D3Publisher to bring its titles across the Pacific. Capcom, for example, has handled most of the Grand Theft Auto localization for Japan.

The first game to come from Take-Two's new Tokyo office will be GTA: Episodes from Liberty City, the standalone disc containing the episodic DLC that released for Xbox 360 last October. An exact release date set for the Japanese version has not been set.

Take-Two recently announced a restructuring of its corporate departments, including its distribution business.
