Gran Turismo 6 Already Being Worked On

Posted November 11, 2011 by David Radd

Gran Turismo 5 was in development for several years before it finally released for PS3 late in 2010. While support is ongoing for the fifth Gran Turismo game, work on the sixth entry has already begun.

"Of course we're working on GT6 already," Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital told IGN, "and I think what really will be the separating factor is something that we can't update through a DLC is something that obviously has to be saved for GT6. Things that we can provide through DLC we will, so that's really the [marked] difference."

Speaking of that DLC for Gran Turismo 5, it took nearly a year for the first paid DLC (though there were other free downloads). Plans are in place, however, for more frequent DLC from here on in.

"We're ready to release more expansions and content to add to the game that will include cars and trucks that we'll be releasing maybe once every two months or so from here on out,” said Yamauchi. "What we do from here on is also really dependent on the reaction of the users to this first DLC that we just released. Now we have the feedback from our customers, we'll see how that will affect what we will do from here."
