"I don't think it's going to be that different for U.S. and Europe," Polyphony Digital head Kazunori Yamauchi said regarding the release date during a Tokyo Game Show GT5 event, according to Joystiq. "Marketing is still discussing their issues," he added, noting that's why official release dates have not yet been assigned to other regions.
Yamauchi went on to boast about the game's extensive features and content, which will include a brand-new physics model with damage and deformation for all "normal" cars, which we're guessing means that manufacturers of very high-end vehicles didn't want to see their precious cars damaged in the game. The game will also include new hybrid and electric cars. All told, there will be over 950 cars available on the disc, with more than 70 variations of over 20 locations to race through.
In a special Playing Favorites feature, Bethesda's Todd Howard told us that Gran Turismo 3 actually influenced his RPG Oblivion.
