Got a Question for Pachter?

Posted November 9, 2009 by James Brightman

It's once again almost time for "Pachter's Podium," our monthly Q&A session with the popular Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst, Michael Pachter. As we get ready for the next edition we'll happily consider your questions for the piece. Either post them in the comments section below or e-mail them to us.

In the last edition, Pachter provided his opinion on why Microsoft's Project Natal would have the advantage over the PlayStation motion wand, and if Microsoft or Sony's motion sensing efforts could enable either company to steal away audience share from Nintendo.

As usual, we only ask him five questions, so we can't guarantee yours will make the cut. Thanks in advance.

How do you predict the sales in Q1 of next year, specifically triple-A titles? Due to Modern Warfare 2's release schedule publishers decided to push the release dates of many of their triple-A titles into the early parts of next year, thus avoiding conflicts in the market against Modern Warfare 2. However, this means that many triple-A titles are now going against each other so soon after the Christmas holiday. They've pushed themselves to avoid conflict with one game in particular to a conflict with other games.

How do you see the sort of sale figures play out in Q1 of next year, and which publisher is likely to trump in terms of sales, in your opinion?

One more thing Pachter,

Do you like fishsticks?
