While the last few months of 2010 placed a big emphasis on shooters like Call of Duty: Black Ops or Halo: Reach, there were plenty of other great games that were perhaps not as lavished with attention, but certainly deserved it.
The Wall Street Journal recently put together a list of games for each of the three main consoles, highlighting "titles that existed under the surface of the hype but still delivered hours of fresh action for gaming pro and rookie alike." We're honestly not sure how massive franchises like God of War III or Mass Effect 2 or Gran Turismo 5 could be considered "unsung" or existing without hype, but we're happy to see a major mainstream business publication put some additional focus on these AAA titles nonetheless.
Here are the three platform lists:
Xbox 360
- Fallout: New Vegas
- Dance Central
- Mass Effect 2
PS3
- Gran Turismo 5
- Super Street Fighter IV
- God of War III
Wii
- GoldenEye 007
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11
- Star Wars The Force Unleashed II

I suppose Wall Street would only see the highest profit margins as the real heroes.

The Wall Street Journal's logic is severely slanted. Tiger Woods is the only game on that list that didn't get super hyped up and it still got alot of free press because Tiger wasn't on the cover by himself this time.
