God of War: Ghost of Sparta Studio Done with PSP, Teases New Action Title

Posted October 25, 2010 by Ben Strauss

Ready at Dawn, the studio responsible for God of War: Ghost of Sparta, has developed their “last PSP Game,” and is already working on their next project, somewhat in the vein of Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Ready at Dawn co-founder Ru Weerasuriya explains what’s on the studio’s plate. “I love playing story-driven games. I love movies. I love things that involve me from start to end and give me a complete experience. That's where our heads are. It's definitely that kind of game we're going to make. We're not going to go off and make an open world, or an MMO, like everybody expects ex-Blizzard people to do. We know what we'd like and we know what we're good at."

“It's the kind of game we're going to make. I'm just glad they did it first," Weerasuriya said, referring to Naughty Dog and Uncharted. "It should prove to everybody it's doable and it's worth doing that kind of stuff."

Though they may be out of PSP development, Ready at Dawn has not stated where they are developing for at this time. "I can tell you it's going to be whatever platform our engine runs on. Right now our engine runs on pretty much anything that's available out there."

The studio hopes to reveal the new game “soon,” but nothing is on the books at this time. Ready at Dawn previously stated they were done working with the PSP back in 2008, but came back in from the cold to work on the upcoming Ghost of Sparta.

They're done with PSP development, for real this time. Of course, maybe that's because they'll be working on PSP2 games soon - who knows? ;)
