Epic's Gears of War 3, which was revealed to be the most anticipated title of 2011 both in the U.S. and U.K. according to Ipsos, has been assigned a release date of September 20. The game had been planned for April of this year but was then pushed back.
The news comes during the same week that Epic released the over-the-top shooter Bulletstorm, from developer People Can Fly. Purchasers of the game will be able to get beta access into the much anticipated Gears of War 3.
Microsoft has very high hopes for the next Gears title. When the publisher announced the delay to fall, it asserted that the game would be the "biggest entertainment launch of 2011."
