GDC 2011 Reveals Summit Line-Up, Asks For Submissions

The 2011 Game Developers Conference has opened the call for submissions to present at various summit sessions.  Industry professionals can submit proposals until October 14. The GDC Summits happen during the first two days of GDC and focus on specialized topics, including the new GDC Smartphone Summit this year. The Smartphone summit will bring together “top developers from around the world to share ideas, best practices and discuss the future of the emerging smartphone and related platforms, including iPhone, iPad, Android OS phones, tablets, Blackberry and a variety of handheld devices.” The 2011 GDC event marks the 25th anniversary of the Game Developers Conference, and will take place February 28 to March 4 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, CA.

The GDC 2011 summit lineup includes:

  • AI Summit
  • Game Education Summit
  • Game Localization Summit
  • GDC Smartphone Summit
  • Independent Games Summit
  • Social & Online Games Summit
  • Serious Games Summit

Advisory board members from the summits include Bart Decrem, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Disney Mobile at the Disney Interactive Media Group, Steve Rabin, Principal Software Engineer, Nintendo of America, Sebastien de Halleux, Vice President Business Development & Strategic Partnerships EA Interactive, and Jane McGonigal, Director of Games R & D, Institute for the Future.
