GDC 2011 Opens Call For Lecture and Panel Submissions

Today, the UBM TechWeb Game Network announced that it is accepting proposals for lectures, roundtables, and panel sessions for the 2011 Game Developers Conference. Submissions will be accepted until Wednesday, August 25 and can be sent in via the official GDC website. This event marks the 25th anniversary of the game industry’s most popular professionals-only event. GDC 2011 will take place at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco California from February 28 to March 4.

Proposals will be accepted in the following categories: Audio, Business and Management, Game Design, Production, Programming and Visual Arts. All proposals will be reviewed by the advisory board which welcomes new members including Dan Fiden, (GM, Playfish San Francisco), Adam Saltsman (Co-Founder, Semi Secret Software ), Soren Johnson (Lead Designer and Programmer, EA Maxis),Siobhan Reddy (Studio Director, Media Molecule), Steve Theodore (Technical Art Director, Undead Labs) and Scott Selfon (Lead Program Manager, Microsoft). These members join hallowed industry veterans like Dave Perry (Gaikai), Mark Cerny (Cerny Games), Chris Hecker (definition six), Rob Pardo (Blizzard Entertainment), and Julien Merceron (Square Enix).

"We pride ourselves on providing best practices for game developers of all genres and GDC 2011 will continue this tradition as the gaming space grows and adapts to the evolving market. We’re excited to welcome our newest advisory board members and expect them to bring a healthy balance of their past experiences along with a fresh approach to the conference program,” said GDC Director Meggan Scavio. “The forward-facing content, inspired sessions, and especially the insightful advisory board are what has kept the event thriving for 25 years, and will sustain it for the next 25.”
