Gamevil Opens Japanese Mobile Studio

Posted December 5, 2011 by Ben Strauss

Seoul, Korea-based Gamevil has announced their newest studio, this time in Japan, with the specific purpose of taking on the established mobile gaming market.  Gamevil hopes to take on a more proactive role in the market with major partners both local and international.

“The Japanese smartphone game market is growing rapidly and has one of the strongest gaming communities in Asia,” said Jonggu Na, Head of Gamevil Japan. “By opening a direct presence in Japan and gaining new insights, Gamevil continues its commitment to becoming a top global mobile game company.”

Founded in 2006, Gamevil has been able to work with Apple, Google, DeNA, Gree and other partners on mobile gaming services, localization and other targeted marketing services. The move to open up an office in Japan continues Gamevil's global growth strategy, following the company establishing Gamevil USA in 2006.
