Gameloft Reports Revenue Jump of 18 Percent

Posted February 1, 2012 by Ben Strauss

Gameloft, despite claims of ‘ripping companies off,’ has seen some major gains thanks in part to several mobile titles released over the past few months.  The company saw a $61.9 million boost in revenues, representing an 18% overall increase in sales.

Titles such as Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation, Six-Guns, Dungeon Hunter 3 and Gangastar Rio: City of Saints, have all been pushing “significant” sales numbers for the French mobile gaming company.  Recent sales helped bring the company to a massive revenue boost of over $216.5 million for fiscal 2011, a 19% increase from 2010.

"In the long term, the company appears to be in an ideal position to benefit from the rapid growth of the digital distribution of video games on mobile phones, tablets, next-generation set-top boxes and smart TVs," said the publisher.

They believe that the "dynamism of the smartphone and tablet market ... should continue sustaining Gameloft's growth in the upcoming quarters."
