Korean MMO publisher NCsoft today released its full-year 2009 fiscal report, revealing an 83% jump in revenues to 634 billion Korean Won ($546 million) and an incredible 623% boost in net income to 185 billion Korean Won (about $160 million). The year was largely driven by NCsoft's newest IP Aion, which accounted for 43% of revenues. A "revitalized" Lineage also contributed to NCsoft's record earnings. Lineage 1 and Lineage 2 accounted for 23% and 26% of sales, respectively.
Aion didn't make its Western debut until last September, but the game quickly sold close to a million units in North America and Europe. NCsoft is expecting the new MMO to continue to be a huge driver for the company. The publisher forecast that Aion's revenues will grow by 31 percent to 330 billion Korean Won ($284 million) over the course of 2010.
Overall, for the year NCsoft is anticipating sales between 650 billion and 700 billion Korean Won, with operating profit in the range of 235 billion to 250 billion Korean Won.
