Future US Publishing Lays Off 19

Posted January 26, 2012 by Ben Strauss

Future US Publishing has announced that they have let go 19 people as part of a repositioning plan for the dwindling physical publishing market.  The company announced that they would not be shuttering any of the ongoing magazines that are currently published.

"Future US is currently working to reposition itself in the marketplace to transform the company from an old school publisher to a hybrid publisher," Future COO Rachelle Considine said to Joystiq. "While many 'old school' publishing companies and outlets have folded completely, Future US is in process of retooling and reshaping the organization to succeed, and thrive in the digital era."

The announcement comes just a few months after the company consolidated US and UK based operations, paving the way for a more centered company, focused on physical media.
