Facebook is fast becoming a popular platform for a variety of games, and now the site is looking to streamline access to those titles for users. Over the weekend, the new Games Dashboard was officially unveiled on Facebook.
Developers of Facebook games are already working on integrating their games into the new functionality, which is similar to how elements like photos are handled by the social site. Users will be able to look at their games, see what their friends are playing and see recommended games by the site and publishers.
This seems like a natural evolution of the Facebook platform and it definitely raises the profile of games on the popular social network.

Wow, the spin on this makes me head hurt.
While you COULD look at it as a way to streamline people's burning desire to get access to updates on their friend's Farms and Fishtanks, a more cynical person (ie: me) could see it as an attempt to automatically filter out one of the most annoying sources of Spam users on facebook get.
Without games mercilessly spamming my home page now, how will these games draw in new users? Anyone involved in this industry can tell you that exposure on the main landing page for users with a good graphic and enticing text is _everything_. Being given your own page one click away from that main page = death.
I would say rather than "streamlining access to games" its cutting off the air supply for them.
