ESA Lobbying Cost $1M Last Quarter

Posted February 3, 2012 by Ben Strauss

The Entertainment Software Association has collectively spent over $1 million in support of lobbying for issues such as SOPA and PIPA.  The ESA spent that amount in the quarter beginning in October and ending in December.

Besides pushing for support for the two bills (up until January 20), the ESA also advocated for STEM initiatives, immigration policy, international trade issues as well as constitutional rights concerning the industry.

All in all, a total of $1,082,167 was spent, beating out other entertainment groups such as the Motion Picture Association of America who only spend around $850K on such issues.
