The activities of Warren Spector have been kept secret for a while, with the Deus Ex and Wing Commander designer quietly toiling away at something unannounced since Junction Point Studios was bought out by Disney Interactive two years ago. Today, evidence uncovered online gave some credibility to reports that he's been working on a cartoon steampunk title.
Superannuation has uncovered some concept art by Fred Gambino for a project called Epic Mickey, which is the same name a Gamasutra report gave the Spector project last year. Classic Disney imagery and characters, like Sleeping Beauty's Castle, Epcot Center and Goofy are depicted with a worn-out mechanical aesthetic.
Monstro as you've never seen him before.
We're fairly confident that these pieces of concept art are related to the rumored Spector project- all the pieces seem to fit. Whether or not this project has actually gone anywhere, however, is another matter altogether.
