The Entertainment Merchants Association (EMA) and the Media & Entertainment Services Alliance (MESA) today announced that they will once again jointly produce the GameSupply conference. The second annual supply chain event will be held February 10, 2010 at the Hilton San Jose in Silicon Valley. Organizers said that the event was moved to Silicon Valley from Los Angeles in order to be more conveniently located for the majority of the game industry.
“Attendees at the first GameSupply told EMA and MESA they wanted us to make it an annual event, and we are pleased to do so as part of our support of the video game industry,” said Bo Andersen, President & CEO of EMA. “GameSupply provides value by strongly focusing its program content on improving supply chain efficiencies.”
GameSupply is a one-day event designed to bring together video game retailers, distributors, publishers, and their service providers to share knowledge about new developments and technologies in the interactive entertainment supply chain. The conference already seems to have the support of both GameStop and Warner Bros.
“Following on this year’s successful initial GameSupply conference, we’re excited to be part of the 2010 conference,” stated John Quinn, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Operations, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The games industry is facing some interesting and challenging issues, and GameSupply is a great venue to hear the latest thinking in a number of areas impacting the games supply chain.”
“The 2009 GameSupply provided a unique forum for supply chain executives from various segments of the video game industry to interact,” said Bob MacDougall, Vice President – Logistics, GameStop. “Ideas were shared toward promoting mutual efficiencies, while the proprietary aspects of our businesses were well-respected. Relationships were established that I have maintained throughout the year. I am looking forward to building on and expanding those relationships at the 2010 GameSupply.”
GameSupply Conference Chairman and MESA Chief Strategist Devendra Mishra added, “By bringing together publishers and others providers in the video game supply chain with distributors and retailers, GameSupply creates a forum for knowledge-sharing, problem-solving, and collaboration that can reduce costs and increase profitability for all.”
In addition to GameSupply, the EMA also recently announced that it's hosting a GamePlan Summit later in 2010.
