Electronic Arts Stands by Tiger Woods

Posted December 3, 2009 by David Radd

Tiger Woods' life has taken a turn for the tabloids these past few days, with a high level of media scrutiny after his one-person car crash closely following reports of an extramarital affair. Yesterday, the intensely private golfer released a statement saying he let his family down and regretted “those transgressions,” all but confessing to infidelity.

Events like this tend to strain relationships with controversy shy corporations, but so far none have dropped their sponsorships; this includes Electronic Arts, who has made Woods the cover athlete for their PGA Tour golf series for the past dozen years.

"Our strong relationship with Tiger for more than a decade remains unchanged,” said EA in a statement to Reuters. “We respect Tiger's privacy, we wish him a fast recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on the golf course.”

If we suggested what changes could be made to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, it would be in bad taste… so we’ll let Conan O'Brien have the honors.
