EA Says Day-One Sales for Medal of Honor Were 'Great'

Posted October 14, 2010 by Ben Strauss

Despite critics panning the ambitious reboot to the Medal of Honor series, games sales for day one were “great,” says EA. The title is “well in a position for an outstanding holiday.”

Unfortunately, EA did not release any specifics on the exact number of copies sold, but the numbers only account for U.S. sales of the game, as it has not been released in other markets. The U.K. is set to get the game tomorrow.

“We anticipate Medal of Honor to be one of the biggest video game titles launched this year,” said SVP of Merchandising at GameStop, Bob McKenzie. “This underscores how video gaming has emerged as mainstream entertainment.”

Medal of Honor is available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
