E3: UFC Trainer Fitness Game On The Way From THQ

Posted June 17, 2010 by Ben Strauss

Fitness games have generally been about making fitness fun and cheeky. The aim has mostly been towards the family, but THQ looks to release a game that men can work out with too. A UFC-themed fitness game has been announced for the Kinect, Move and Wii.

THQ’s new game, UFC Trainer, is a spin off of the surprise success of the UFC game that debuted last year. With a sequel already on shelves and other publishers looking to cash in on the MMA style fighting games, THQ has gone in a new direction.

THQ’s core games boss Danny Bilson has already spoken about the game, and when gamers will get a chance to demo the game. “We want this thing tuned to perfection without lag," GameSpot quotes him as saying. This hints at THQ’s current abilities with the Kinect, as developers are getting used to the development process.

"I'm not going to ship it until it's the coolest fighting thing in the world."

There have been a flurry of fitness games announced during E3. THQ hopes to release UFC Trainer sometime in January 2011.
