Today, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) announced that their 2010 E3 Expo will be “the world’s most exciting platform for interactive entertainment software and hardware news and launches.” They are seeing strong exhibitor participation and an amazing number of attendee registrations. ESA officials also noted exceptional interest and registration prior to May 3, 2010, the early registration deadline.

The E3 Expo will be taking place June 15-17 this year at the Los Angeles Convention center. “The world is coming to the E3 Expo this June. With groundbreaking announcements expected from computer and video game publishers and developers, this year’s E3 Expo is going to be the main event for the entertainment industry in 2010,” said ESA CEO and President Michael D. Gallagher. “Major retailers, investor analyst firms, and media from the United States and over 60 countries are already committed to attending.”

E3 Expo has always been pushed as a showcase for developers and this year is no different. “This summer, the ESA will host the biggest and best E3 ever,” said John Riccitiello, CEO of Electronic Arts. “All the best games and all the best developers will be together in LA to unveil new titles and celebrate the creativity and new technology that makes gaming so much fun.”

Even fan-favorite Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter commented: “I expect the 2010 E3 to be one of the most exciting in years, with the type of impactful breaking news we have learned to expect from the show. This year’s E3 will be the launching pad for hardware and software innovations that could change the industry for years.”

The ESA represents North American videogame publishers and runs the E3 Expo. This year, all three major hardware companies are expected to show off new peripherals and product lines. Nintendo will be unveiling their new 3DS portable system, while Microsoft and Sony will be showcasing their Natal and Move motion controllers, respectively.
