Remedy Entertainment, best known for creating Max Payne and Alan Wake, recently also helped produce a small iOS title called Death Rally. The title was developed by Mountain Sheep and took only eight months to finish. Remedy Managing Director Matias Myllyrinne told Joystiq at E3 that the title recovered its entire development cost in only three days.
"A lot of the credit goes to Mountain Sheep for developing a great fun game. We produced it, took it forward and helped - but the heavy lifting is with the dev team as always," he said.
"I think in terms of priorities, Remedy will continue to do what we do best. We love our big movie-like story driven action games - but it is also about applying these strengths in new ways too. There are awesome things happening with digital stuff like XBLA, Steam, iPhones etc. Where you can build a killer value and fun at a low price point and still make money,” Myllyrinne replied when asked if the game's success shifted the studio's strategy.
