Speaking to Geoff Keighley of GameTrailers, SCEA President Jack Tretton said that the PS Vita would indeed ship globally this year. However, the year he was referring to was the fiscal year, ending March 31, 2012.
Tretton has made comments to this effect before, although this time he hesitated to state any specific territory getting the shaft. It's hard to imagine that the system would not release in Japan first, and America is typically right behind, so our European gaming cousins may be out of luck if they want a PS Vita in 2011.
