Posted June 6, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Electronic Arts has provided a bit more depth to Black Box’s Need For Speed: The Run with a gameplay reveal at its press event today.  The game is a story-based racer that adds third-person on-foot action in a series first.  The gameplay involved a racing sequence, an on-foot run from some antagonists, taking on cops via quick-time events, and using a stolen police car to escape an armed helicopter.

The game will retain the Autolog feature that first premiered in Need For Speed: Most WantedThe Run is also powered by the same Frostbite 2.0 engine that’s pushing Battlefield 3.
