The newest variation on the DS hardware, the DSi LL (called the DSi XL in the West), launched on Saturday, November 21 and its early results are positive. For the first two days of sales for the system, Famitsu [thanks Andriasang] is reporting that it has sold 103,524 units.
DSi LL sales are less than the hardware unit sales of the original DSi in its first week, when it sold over 170,000. Still, early results for the hardware revision with increased mass have been better than the PSPgo, which only managed sales in the low five figures.
The DS platform has sold over 28 million units in Japan since originally launching December 4, 2004.

I really dont know what to make of the DSi. Generally if my DS conks out around this time next year with the DSi is out I am still in favour of buying a new lite. But then again if I was the SD memory and hopefully DS/Shop etc I'll need the DSi. Its a cunning ploy by nintendo to make you own 2 of the one console so you can play GBA games on one and take a pic of yourself playing your lite on the DSi.
