Disney Puts Former Blizzard and Cryptic Executive in Charge of Marvel Titles

Disney Interactive Media Group has announced that Bill Roper has been appointed to the position of vice president, Marvel franchise.  Roper will take responsibility of long term strategy and future creative direction for Disney published Marvel titles, and he'll also "identify key talent and developers to partner with on product development."

“We are pleased to have Bill join our team,” said Alex Seropian, senior vice president and general manager for Marvel. “With 17 years of experience in the worldwide gaming industry, we are confident that Bill has the creative vision necessary to help guide the next wave of development and product for DIMG’s Marvel Games.”

“I am excited to be working with Alex and the entire Marvel team,” said Roper.  “Marvel is known for their enormous catalog of incredible characters and I look forward to bringing them to life across all video game platforms.”

Roper started at Blizzard, eventually moving up to vice president of Blizzard North.  He eventually moved on to become the creative lead over at Cryptic Studios before resigning and moving on to Disney Interactive.
