Posted January 12, 2011 by M.H. Williams

Gazillion Entertainment announced today that David Brevik, formerly President of Blizzard North, has been promoted to President and COO of the studio. Brevik, during his seven years at Blizzard, was responsible for the creation of the wildly popular Diablo series and the formation of Blizzard’s Battle.net service. While at Gazillion, Brevik has been acting as Studio Director and Project Lead for the Marvel Universe MMO in development.

“Gazillion is committed to developing top-tier online games,” said Brevik. “The future will be defined by console quality games in the web browser, and we believe we can make this a reality today.”

Jeff Lind has stepped in as Vice President and Studio Head for Secret Identity, the internal Gazillion studio formerly known as Gargantuan. Secret Identity is still developing the MMO, with no firm release date at this time. Dad Fiden, formerly of EA’s Pogo and Playfish San Francisco, has also been added to the executive team as Vice President of Publishing.

“David is one of the foremost game development talents in the industry. We’ve benefited enormously from the creative and technical leadership he has brought to Gazillion, and we’re very pleased that he will be stepping into this key companywide role,” said Rob Hutter, Gazillion Entertainment’s founder and CEO, on Brevik’s promotion.
